Finding songs for your groom to dance to with his mom can be hard. But Italians and Italian Americans have a slew of options. I don't think any other country in the world has so many songs devoted to mothers and their sons. Mammas and their Italian sons certainly do have a close relationship. Just ask their brides! As most of you can tell from my name (if not my bio), I'm Italian American and I'm marrying an Italian from Italy. Needless to say our weddings -- the one in Italy and the one in the United States -- will include Italian traditions, lots of them in fact. We will be offering bombonieri or wedding favors to our guests. We're still deciding what to give them. Whatever it is, it will include five Jordan almonds for good luck. I love when couples incorporate their unique culture and family traditions into their weddings, even when they come from diverse backgrounds. I recently received this gorgeous wedding invitation, which paid tribute to the bride's Chinese heritage, from our good friends Le and Andy. The symbol on the front of the invitation means "Double Happiness" and stands for love, happiness and luck.
