While in the midst of wedding planning, I, like many of you now, found myself frequenting many message boards to get inspiration and discuss planning with other brides, etc. The thing that I found the most surprising was the debate as to whether or not each bride was going to be hiring a videographer for their wedding day. Personally, hiring a videographer was never a question for me so I found it interesting that the debate was not which videographer each bride was going to hire but if they would... Read More... |

If you've always been drawn to European, hand-tied bouquets, you will drool over the bouquets I discovered while planning my Italian wedding in June and July. I recently wrote about the flowers for the "Our Paesani" column that I write weekly for an Italian American Web site. You can check out the pictures of the flowers here and get more information about each of the bouquets by heading to ItaliansRus.com. I hope these photos and the article provide you with inspiration and ideas for your wedding... Read More... |

When a bride dreams about her wedding day one of the most important moments that she thinks about is that walk down the aisle. For some brides, this moment includes the processional music of which the most popular (and most recognized) pieces of music which is Bridal Chorus from Lohengrin’, by Richard Wagner (also known as: Here Comes The Bride.) A close second to this piece is Canon in D Major by Johann Pachalbel. However, you may be a bride who doesn’t want her wedding processional... Read More... |

A few weeks ago, I wrote an article about how creating a unique wedding is an open field, completely free to mold and plan to your liking. After this blog was posted, a comment was made that I couldn’t forget: “I agree with you that the field is open--everything and anything is an option...but there is definitely a down side to this: namely the pressure a bride feels to make her wedding unique and special...do you agree?” ElizabethEven if this wasn’t the exact feeling of... You have probably seen at least one photo of someone in their gown on their wedding day between the years 1982 and 1988. Like the mantra of the era itself, “The bigger the better” and most brides who got married in that time wore gowns that made them look like over-embellished, inflated marshmallows, barely to be seen underneath the layers of ruffles, tulle and netting. Rarely do I see a photo of a bride from the 80’s and don’t cringe, assuming that the bride’s thoughts... Read More... |

Last year, my husband and I attended the wedding of friends of ours who are probably two of the most ecologically conscious people we have ever met. Together, they run an organization called Ecoagents, an organization committed to protecting the Amazon Rainforest and empowering its indigenous communities who rely on the rainforest for sustenance and survival. This couple has also started a wonderful campaign called Eco-to-Go which helps reduce the amount of wasted paper and plastic found in most... Read More... |

Adding personal touches is a great way to give your wedding a unique yet intimate feel. The best way to infuse personalization into your day without getting overwhelmed is to break down parts of your wedding day, bit-by-bit, and see how you can add some personal touches in each area that relate back to the whole vision you see for your day. Here are some areas where you can think about adding these touches. Personalize Food There may be a family recipe that has been handed down from generation... Read More... |

Music for our wedding was one of the most important parts of the planning as it can be the deciding factor as to whether or not the guests enjoy themselves. Having the added strike of a Sunday morning wedding, which can be a tricker day to actually get people’s butts out of their chairs, is another reason we took this part of the planning very seriously. It may work for some, but we knew that we didn’t want to see any conga lines formed at our reception, didn’t want to hear the... I have spent most of my of my career taking a concept to a reality, so realizing the vision that I had for my wedding was one of the most rewarding parts of planning process. However, I don't profess to being the most skilled when it comes to flowers. I couldn't tell you the difference between a hyacinth and a hydrangea, I don't have much of a green thumb (plants that enter my home have a death wish) and I would rather my husband get me a iTunes gift card instead of a dozen roses. Beginning my... Read More... |

It is never too early to start thinking about dresses for your bridal party, as many factors weigh in heavily when making a decision. So the earlier you start, the better off you will be. First, get feedback from your bridesmaids. Being the bride, you do have the final say in which dress your bridesmaids will wear but, if you are a kind bride, you will allow your bridesmaids’ preferences to guide your decision. Years ago, I was a bridesmaid in a wedding where the bride made a final decision... Read More... |
