Having a stylish Mother's Day

May 9th, 2008 at 12:41:26 by Christina

As I mentioned in a previous post, it's important to thank your mother, future MIL or anyone else who is helping you tremendously during the wedding planning process -- and don't wait until it's all over to express your gratitude.  Especially since it's Mother's Day on Sunday, now is the perfect time to do something special for your mom or future MIL.  Part of my Mother's Day gift was inspired by a recent shopping trip.  My mom has been struggling to find an appropriate mother-of-the-bride dress... Read More...

Do Something Special for your Mom!

April 3th, 2008 at 14:25:58 by Christina

I attended the NY Magazine Weddings Showcase last night, which was a great event, especially if you were there early enough to snag a gift bag! I will post a full recap later since I don't have my camera cord to download the pictures right now.  But as I was going through some of the material from the different tables last night, a flyer with "Don't forget about Mom!" caught my attention.  It's a special promotion by the Broadway Show, "A Catered Affair," a new musical about a mother's effort to... Read More...

Taking a Break from Wedding Planning

February 15th, 2008 at 16:34:28 by Francesca

My fiance Antonio just arrived in the United States from Italy at the start of the week. I've been talking to him non stop about our American wedding plans because I know he'll be here for only a short time. But I realized that with jet lag still nagging him, I better quit nagging him -- and fast! I decided to cool it with the wedding talk for this long President's Day weekend. Instead, (after one little, already-scheduled jaunt to David's Bridal for his nieces' dresses for the Italian wedding),... Read More...

February 8th, 2008 at 17:07:44 by Christina

Tell us about some of the favorite gifts you've given or received for Valentine's Day, and as a fun bonus, we're throwing in a pair of Loew's movie tickets to one lucky person!  We'll pick our favorite idea and announce the winner on Valentine's Day -- so keep the ideas coming until then.   As a start, here's my Valentine's Day gift this year.   I was so happy with the parent albums I made using MyPublisher (see my previous post), that I decided to do another photobook using our honeymoon pictures... Read More...

Advice for Newlyweds

December 11th, 2007 at 20:18:46 by Francesca

As I plan my wedding, I'm thinking ahead to after the nuptials. I'm trying to gear up to be a married person and all that entails -- from keeping the passion alive to deciding whether to have a family. It's not going to be easy. Marriage certainly seems like a lot of hard work. But I think it will be worth it and the rewards will be great. In the end, I get to spend the rest of my life -- and create a family -- with my best friend.  I encourage brides to think about what kind of wife they want to... Read More...

Don't Worry, Be Happy

December 7th, 2007 at 10:03:46 by Francesca

I'm in the earliest stages of wedding planning and already I'm feeling overwhelmed. Especially if you want to save some money, you have a to-do list miles long. Like most brides, I'm still working full time to earn money to pay for my nuptials and life after wedding. I also happen to be renovating an apartment for my future husband and me. Now, it's the holiday season, and I have to admit I'm feeling a bit frazzled. It got me to thinking that the wedding really is just one day (well, two for me... Read More...
