Well, I'm back in Ischia, a small island off the coast of Italy, where
I'll be getting married in just 16 days. I can't believe it! One of the things
we've been doing with our time since I arrived is delivering the invitations to
our guests -- by hand and in person. I mailed them to our American guests
before I left -- and I made the invitations myself. I thought I would share
them -- and the steps I took for making them -- with you. Here goes:
These are images of the example I made. Some things have changed since this
photo was taken. For starters, our names are a bit bigger and feature our first
and last names in a maroon color (the wedding color scheme is burgundy,
charcoal gray, and silver, which is why I wanted to get the darker red into the
invitation.)
You can't tell from this image, but the cornucopia design is embossed, so it's
raised off the page and provides a lovely 3-D effect. To achieve this look, you
need to take the following steps:
1. Choose a rubber stamp with a wooden handle in a design that fits with your
wedding vision. Our American vow renewal will be two days after Thanksgiving,
so we chose the cornucopia as our theme. They'll be featured on the altar in
the church and on the tables as centerpieces. The invitation kicked off the
Thanksgiving cornucopia theme. I found my stamps through Inkadinkado.
2. Next, you'll need an embossing ink pad, embossing powder in a color of your
choice (I chose silver), and a heat tool. All of this can be found at A.C. Moore, Michaels, and most craft stores.
3. Depending on the shape you'd like for the invitation, you can choose
standard card stock or you can do what I did -- buy an invitation kit and
additional RSVP cards (I used the batch that came with the standard invitations
in the photos above as reception cards and purchased additional ones for the
actual RSVP). Then, start from scratch with your design.
4. After you have all the materials you need, you can get started. I designed
the bottom portion of my invitation with Print Shop, and I spent a lot of time
choosing the Invitation font with Blackadder for our names. Play with the font
colors, but I would steer clear of cheesy graphics. You want the most impact
you can get from the embossed design. It will make your invites look more
professional if they are clean and crisp.
5. Be sure to measure and account for the space you'll need for the embossed
design. Do a few test runs with standard paper before moving to the pricey
cardstock.
6. After you've printed out one invitation, you can firmly press the stamp into
the ink pad, making sure to coat it well. Press the coated stamp gently and
firmly onto the invitation in the spot where you'd like it to appear.
7. Put a sheet of plain white paper under the invitation and shake the
embossing powder on top of the wet, stamped design. Shake the excess powder
onto the white page underneath. Make sure the powder is only appearing on the
design.
8. Turn on your heating tool and let it warm up. After a few minutes, you can
run the hot air coming from the heating tool over the design and you'll see it
begin to raise. Be sure that you hit every inch of the design. Do not hang the
heating tool in one spot for too long. I've done this and it can burn the paper
pretty badly. Be sure to turn off the heating tool and unplug it when you are
done.

Wow, it looks REALLY professional! I'm wondering approximately how long it took you to do your invites? And what type of printer did you use to print the wording? Did you have any trouble loading the cardstock?

Sorry it's taken me so long to respond. I was in the wedding planning zone. I'm back now. It took me months to decide on the design but about three weeks to a month to actually make the invites. I had to make many different versions -- in English and Italian, for family in Italy and for friends in Italy (we had two different parties in Italy because of space issues). I used a regular printer, one that is suitable for making photos, too. It's a Canon. And the paper loaded easily. It took me a while to figure out the dimensions on the screen to lay out the text correctly. I did the text in Word in the end and it worked out well.

And by excellent, I typically mean excellent to work with in the event you need to make use of your insurance plan". The premiums rely on quite a few factors, that it's not likely even worth asking here.
I'm betting insurance policies in the Jacksonville area is quite much more
Anyhow, thank you for guidelines.

My concerns are: The amount can a provider legally cost you to let a policy holder out of his auto insurance?
Just how much does your agency charge when anyone wishes to cancel and how much pressure would you use to hold them?
What are some suggestions or something like that we can say if our client has several months still left on his present automobile plan? Definitely, many of us are not going to hold back until his renewal comes due each time.

Never take the first quote - The first quotes you'll get back for your car are likely to be on the high side - insurance companies capitalize on the fact that until you've received a few quotes you won't know what's actually a realistic quote - Never take the first quote you get, no matter how competitive it might seem! Is there any one have good experience with insurance companies. Any company offering cheap auto insurance for new drivers. Any suggestion?

What happens in a case where a insured driver has health insurance which covers bodily injury from an accident? Is the Uninsured Motorist coverage for medical bills primary, or should the injured party's personal health insurance pay as primary? My car is registered in Atlanta but I just moved to Florida. Can I still get my car insured in Florida and keep my car registered in Atlanta?Any help??

I got in an accident a month ago and it has taken that long for the other persons insurance company to claim they are at fault, although they are not paying my storage fee for my car that is totaled because they said they advised me to move it in the beginning, I live in an apartment were it could not sit for a month I had no other choice but to leave it at a shop for storage. Should they be responsible for those fees?
